[Alright lecture time. He's not Richard Strand levels of educated on the long and deep history of elementals through all cultures so he'll keep it brief.]

Most cultures have a mythological personification in some form or another of elementals. As gods, as spirits, as demons. Where they differ in name and form they do typically agree that elementals are deeply powerful primordial forces. Pieces of the very fabric of existence. Concentrated aspects of the building blocks of what we understand as reality.

So like the Dread Powers then?

Maybe. What are those?

The Entities, The Powers, The Fears. 14 primordial made manifest. Well, sort of. They have agents and avatars they work through.

[bilocates]

You say made manifest. How? Have they always been in existence?

They've got avatars of them who act in our world. Feeding them through their feeding off of others. I killed a slaughter avatar back home.

[bilocates]

What are the... characteristics of a slaughter avatar? What happens when you kill one?

They feed off and cause the fear of being Slaughtered. Like it can be frenzied, or in the case of our old president, like on a warzone. And when I killed her, it just stopped the end of the world. And cut off the way that the Entity fed off of what she was doing.

[bilocates]

Does cutting off the food supply weaken, or destroy it? Or will it just find more?

It'll find more. The difference is that it can't bring them fully into the world remaking it in it's image. That's what she was trying to do with her ritual. But smaller scale is way better than entirely wrecking the world. As far as anyone is aware there's no way of ending them permanently. How do humans get rid of primal fears?

[bilocates]

So you've staved off the end of the world... even if only for a little while.

You can't get rid of fear.
