WHO: All y’all
WHAT: A nice vacation to ease everyone in
WHERE: Various locations on Alkonost Island, including Navi
WHEN: Sept 12-30
WARNINGS: Use ‘em in your threads if needed!
Welcome to Alkonost, the beautiful tropical island on the planet Tetagari where you have just made an emergency crash landing! You’ll be here for a while, so settle in and get cozy with your new shipmates until Navi is repaired and ready for takeoff.
Alkonost is a small island with an eponymous beachfront village, with the rest of the land covered in tropical rainforest, dry forest, and grasslands. Most of the land is still wild, as the Alkonost population is centered at the beach, though ancient ruins can be found a bit more inland. Alkonostians are a humanoid, amphibious people, with light green skin, gills, and webbed fingers; they are friendly and welcoming to tourists, business contacts, and intergalactic refugees alike.
Speaking of business, the main exports of Alkonost are various types of fish, shell jewelry, and a unique, dark red pearl that is only cultivated in the waters surrounding the island. These red pearls are highly prized on other islands and provide the bulk of income for the Alkonost population. They’ve also recently attracted a band of pesky pirates, which has taken to raiding export ships and even the pearl farms themselves, on occasion. Warning signs are posted near the shoreline and will be explained by locals if asked.
While visiting, you can elect to work as part of a fishing or pearl farming crew, or with one of the island’s fruit collection squads, and you’ll be paid daily in fresh fish and equally fresh fruit. For necessities of the non-consumable sort, the village open-air market is open every day for all of your shopping needs. Otherwise, grab some sun on the beach, dance and sing around bonfires at night, get to know your fellow passengers, or just chill on the ship and get to know Navi.

...but she's well aware that doing so in the way she usually would is just not going to work right at the moment. Instead, she's going to start by trying to see if anyone else among her companions is interested in doing something. Hopefully, she can just play helpful back up and fill in a few gaps without spilling all the beans about her abilities. She's not quite comfortable with the idea of that, not even remotely, and she's trying to think ahead, plan out how she's going to handle the matter of her secret if it turns out she's stuck with this crew for the remainder of their voyage.
It's not something she wants to leave to chance and, if she can, she'd prefer not to force it out too quickly. So she's going to start approaching folks she thinks are likely to see what they say. Do you look helpful?
But you're just as likely to find her speaking to Navi or exploring the ship as you are to find her out on the beach. Feel free to join her on any of that, of course.
The other place on board you might find her is the kitchen, stashing food stuff and, perhaps surprisingly, canning up even more things. There’s no telling how much they’re going to need or what state the refrigerator might get to if system resources are needed elsewhere so she’s planning ahead.
...if a tray or two of cookies happen in the meanwhile, we’ll, hopefully her new crew mates like chocolate chip.
Fruit picking
Upon discovering a few tidbits that might lead to something very interesting he proceeded to search out a potential comrade or two for the adventure. There isn't much fun in exploring by yourself.
Clara had proven to be someone both pleasantly optimistic, and capable of decisive action when needed. She would make for an excellent traveling companion. He approached with a friendly smile while she was busy in a tree.
"Good afternoon! I hope I am not interrupting you?"

cw: Dabi is a jerk and also has staples in his skin for those who don't like that, okay THAT is all
The people that lived on the island reminded him of Spinner and being the only one to show up out of the entire league? Stupid. Especially since Toga probably would've loved some of the things that he saw in the market. Their market wasn't so bad. In fact, he could be found at some stalls, taking a look at a few things, trinkets that he wouldn't admit were likely for her. His unlikely 'family' that he had been so roughly thrust into in his life deserved a few nice things.
Mister would have loved a lot of this crap, too, more like he would have liked stealing it, but Dabi didn't know how long they'd be on the island and didn't favour being stalked down the whole time. Not yet, he probably would end up nicking a few things before the end of their journey, but certainly not this time.
The other places he could be found were food stalls or small seating areas he could sit and eat the food in. Despite his monstrous appearance, he still had to eat. His favourite was probably just walking on the beach with his boots off in his opposite hand, letting the water hit up to his ankles. If someone was careful enough, they might catch a moment of weakness and him bent over to help a creature back on to its scuttle-y legs so it could get back into the water instead of ending up on its back, dying on the sands. Or maybe it was supposed to be on its back? Oh well, it went in the water anyway.
Whatever he got found doing, likely he would find the motif and consider it stupid.
@ the market
She can do without all of this sunshine, though. The market provides a nice escape into shade (her natural habitat), so she spends a fair amount of time browsing even when she doesn't need to buy anything specific. Today, though, there's one item in particular she's determined to hunt down. And hey, she recognizes Dabi from the ship (hard not to, he doesn't exactly have a forgettable appearance), so why not strike up a conversation while she's here?
"I don't suppose you've seen any journals for sale around, have you?"

Beach
(Which he's not entirely sure he believes, but it's not like there's much of a choice, either.)
"Taking in the scenery?"
There's not much else to do, of course. But that hardly means that he can't ask.

It was rare for him to be surprised, he resolved to not let this opportunity slip by unappreciated.
The Ship/Navi:
- The first order of business was getting to know their host, and transport. After his time in Dualis Murmur was still put off by synthetic beings, but Navi being partially organic and certainly more agreeable did help to reassure him. He felt it prudent to spend some time getting to know Navi, as well as the layout of the living vessel itself.
- Like on the beach. A place he found himself wandering to any time he ran out of things to investigate or question and the homesickness became just a little too overwhelming. While he had no intent to speak on it; that call, that deep aching longing to return would sneak up on him. And soon enough he found himself out along the beach, far away from where the mortals were playing.
- Otherwise one could catch him out and about among the locals. Helping with the odd idle task here and there, or browsing the market stalls. At some point he would pick up a fresh set of clothing, along with a simple crystal sphere that could tuck easily away into a pocket. Should he happen along a decent length of leather wrapping he could fashion himself a proper glove to hold it in. An odd choice to carry on one's hand, but then again what about the guy wearing long-sleeves on the beach wasn't odd?
Their new home, for the time being. Certainly not a situation an angel ever expected to find himself in.
Murmur could be found just about anywhere aboard, if one were so inclined to stop to talk to him. At least in the early stages after their unpleasant landing, later on he would be much more likely to be found outside.
The Beach:
Just... Staring out to sea. Where time would escape him and sometimes he'd be out there, unmoving, for hours. Taking solace in the small fact that at least out here, no matter how far from his own universe and home, oceans were still very much the same.
Bothering the natives
Maybe more odd was how swiftly and conspicuously he'd disappear any time it sounded like pirates were starting up their antics. This was something he couldn't get involved in, no matter how much he'd have wanted to assist.
Wildcard: [Hit me up if there's any other place you might want to catch Murmur!]
life is currently a BEACH
"You know, this is my first time on a beach, and I just keep thinking about this old song by the Cure."
That's a perfectly normal way of starting a conversation, right? Anyway, she's seated on the ground back in the shade, where the forest starts to meet the beach. The journal she acquired at the market is open in her lap, and she places the pen down in valley between the pages while she stretches her fingers out.

Beach
(Eventually he might do some exploring. Right now, however, he doesn't care to.)
There is, however, the matter of the sole being to catch his attention early. Not that he sets out to go looking, of course, but once he picks up that same Light he'd noticed earlier, it's easy enough to turn his steps in that direction.
"I wouldn't have thought a simple ocean to be that interesting. Unless it's something you didn't have a chance to see much of, previously?"

Martin is either trying to trying to talk to the Navi for any proof they might have that this is real and not a part of where he just came from, or in his head;
on the beach staring off at the ocean or the ship lost in thought or running away from the pirates (combat-trained, he is NOT);

During the day, she'll often be found on the ship, either getting to know Navi a bit better or lurking in one of the common areas. Once she procures a journal from the market, she spends time on the beach - back in the shady areas where the forest meets the sand, of course, a bit removed from the village - filling up the blank pages with scribbling and doodles. An artist she is not, but words are easy enough.
At night, once the sun has disappeared, Jack feels much more in her element. Some people are frightened by the dark, but it's been a comfort for her as long as she can remember. It's her nature to gravitate toward the back of a crowd, so even when she joins the festivities at the nightly bonfires, she keeps a bit of distance between herself and the villagers.
She's used to being alone, so she doesn't typically seek out the companionship of others. But Jack can be friendly enough and open to conversation if approached. She doesn't bite - not on this side of the Primordial Dream, at least.

She offers a little wave, then gestures towards a seat near her. She'll still go if Jack says no, but she's hoping not.

"Excuse me," she says softly, apologetically. "You have a pen and paper?" She moves into the shade, her head tilted and her eyes sad and wide. Jane has argued with this woman and she knows it, had suspected the worst of her, but the Hangman's Daughter is less reactionary than Jane is. Perhaps Jack was trustworthy, perhaps not, but she'd done nothing so far to harm them.
"May I have a page, please? If you'd like something in return, I could paint your nails." She fishes into the pocket of her jacket, pulling out the single bottle of dark purple nail polish Jane bought from the market. It's not much of a trade, but it's the best she could do at the moment.

After the thoroughly unpleasant landing - and the events that had proceeded it - Emet-Selch is, by and large, more than ready to not have to deal with people any more than is strictly necessary. And while beaches are not precisely the sort of places he might typically have sought out, they are at least somewhat less populated.
In theory.
All the same, it's there he can be found, sitting back against the trunk of a tree, eyes closed and looking for all the world like he is indeed fast asleep. And without so much as the slightest concern for either what the local wildlife might get up to or the potential threat of pirates. (Or, for that matter, what his fellow travelers might do.)
[Markets]
Later on in their stay, once he's had time enough to put things behind him a little more, he can also be found strolling the markets, peering over knick-knacks and actually useful items alike with a mild curiosity that leans a little more towards disinterest than anything else. But it's something to do, and besides. It's not impossible that he'll happen across something interesting. Or someone

"Yeah, I know the socks are cheap," Jane huffs, "I just don't need itchy plant-fiber shit on my feet since these things are rough as fuck. I'm not paying anything extra for them! Just give me the pants!"

So Isaac did what he always did when he was thrown horrifically into painful memories that he didn't want to even think about - he got very, very drunk.
Isaac can be found spending his time on the beach (drinking), wandering around the market (drunk) or idly exploring the forest (and drinking).
He does also spend a little time on the ship, as uncomfortable as it is to be there, since he knows they're going to have to take off again soon enough. Most of the time onboard he's spending trying to make himself useful repairing things where he can figure them out or Navi lets him - that's about the only activity he won't do drunk (well, tipsy, maybe), but he'll definitely be doing it pretty hungover most of the time.
