Gooooood morning passengers! Time to rise and shine - with a very important Navi announcement incoming:

Attention, passengers.
We'll be landing soon on the planet Trelnar,
near Vivamion City.
We'll be docked for three weeks, local time,
which coincides with the city’s annual winter festival.
Should you require any weather-appropriate clothing,
I will handle the bill for your expenses.
Please stand by for atmospheric entry.

Have fun! As Navi said in their message, any passenger who requires a warm winter coat, scarf, hat, gloves, and/or boots before joining the festivities will be able to select such items from one of the shops near the docks, charged to Navi’s account. Passengers will also find a bank counter just past the docking terminal, where your new windfall of Navigems can be exchanged for credits (the universal currency). Try not to spend it all in one place!

Richard is in his element. He loves cold weather, he loves Canada and Vancouver and Chicago and all of the lovely cold places he's lived - he's never been truly comfortable with beaches and sand and sunlight.

That familiar pull to a partner has pulled him to Lucifer's side the moment he mentions vancouver. Enjoy that sense of amusement Lucifer as Richard, sipping on his coffee, smiles.

"Not a fan of winter wonderlands?"

Ugh, that partner thing. It always unsettles him a bit. He doesn't like all this sharing he's forced to do with strangers - ironic, perhaps, for a chronic over-sharer like Lucifer, but still true.

"I'm a warm-weather sort of Devil," he comments lightly. "Used to fire and brimstone and all that."

Sort of. As usual, it's not a lie, but it's not completely the whole truth. He just finds it easier to refer to Hell in terms that most humans can understand - the familiar imagery from centuries of art, music and poetry.

Lucifer talking about fire and brimestone makes Richard smile - inwardly. The levels according to Dante varied considerably but the demon did not exude "I'm a creature that relishes torture".

Nodding mutely, he sips on his coffee, "There's a place that offers something passing to earth coffee. I suggest that, or relish the snow. I love this kind of weather."

And he'll just...exude that. That pleasant cold.

"I only drink single malt coffee," Lucifer says easily, and pulls his flask out of an inner pocket as if to demonstrate. In fact, he takes the opportunity to take a swig from it. "Luckily, I always have this on me."

He glances up at the sky, scowling minutely. "All these layers ruin my silhouette," he comments after a moment. And he can never really relish snow. The way it falls, reminds him too much of the constant, soft fall of ash in Hell.

Richard snorts, "I suppose that's a curse for some. Try and think of it as an opportunity to get closer to people. Rituals for pagans this time of year always make me feel...a bit cozy."

He waves a hand, "Not the worshiping of false gods but this planet's stuck in a Christmas mood and you ought to seek out something that's comfortable."

These pairings are awful. He can never pick up on what feeling is his, what feeling is someone else's, is this discomfort true or false or just a delusion in his mind?

"Oh, I'll be getting cozy later," Lucifer says with assurance, tucking the flask away again. "We won't be roasting any chestnuts on an open fire but undoubtedly my chestnuts will be -"

He stops himself - not embarrassed, but having learned.

"Well, you might want to work on your psychic barriers if they're not very good yet. I certainly don't care who knows about my sex life, but you humans sometimes get weird about it - and the Detective values her privacy."

"I'm a scientist and technically a doctor. Just not in anything medical." He chuckles, "Don't worry. I intend to practice more with psychic abilities." pause, "Not sexual positions."

He snorts, "Oh god. I would never have discussed that before that damned planet." He laughs lightly, "Still. It feels good to relax."

"Can't help you with the psychic stuff," Lucifer says easily, meandering in the direction of a stall selling knitted things. "Though if you ever want advice about sexual positions, that is my area of expertise. I invented several of them."

Richard coughs, still, still a prude in his own way, "No. No thank you. I'm familiar with multiple positions across history."

Following him (called or otherwise) he studies the knitted booth, "Looking for something for your girlfriend? Your fiancee?"

It's Lucifer's turn to sputter at that question - covering it with a cough. "My - just girlfriend, let's not get ahead of ourselves, here."
