WHO: Open to all passengers!
WHAT: A visit to Hama Vorcia, and your 15 minutes of fame.
WHERE: Anywhere on the megastation Hama Vorcia, or Navi.
WHEN: April 11 through May 2
WARNINGS: Add these to your comment subject lines as needed! And if you end up going too hard on one of those extreme challenge shows, please record deaths on the death page.
Hello, passengers! Hope you're all ready for an announcement, 'cause Navi's voice is getting beamed into your head right about ... now:
Attention, passengers.
We'll be docking soon at the megastation Hama Vorcia, where we will remain for approximately three weeks, local time.
Please stand by.
The notable lack of turbulence this time is probably a refreshing change, eh?
Upon docking and disembarking, passengers will find a bank counter just past the terminal, where your new windfall of Navigems can be exchanged for credits (the universal currency). Try not to spend it all in one place!
After that … the megastation’s ceiling is the limit. Have as much fun as you can cram into the next few weeks! Just make sure to pace yourselves - you wouldn’t want to get sidelined by muscle cramps, right?

"You can't blame me for being thrown off by trying to deal with someone from my world fond of hunting geese." But she's a friend of Alex so he relaxes, "This place is unnerving. I was following him to make sure he is...accompanied."
no subject
It's going to be like that, is it?
"It wasn't a goose." He states matter-of-factly. And the reprisal for this false and defamatory statement? The pressure that had been a mild product of Simon's presence suddenly increased. Tenfold. Right about now is when he decided he had had quite enough of Doctor Richard Strand.
He does hope the man enjoys never sleeping again. "You do have a history of shifting responsibility, don't you, Doctor Strand?" It was almost a warning, a hint of a threat in his tone as that pressure increased ever further. Whatever monitors might have been focused on them went off in the distance, whatever surveillance moved to compensate likewise found their feed nothing but static and darkness.

She shrugs, but that business with the nearby equipment shorting out sure is curious. Jack's seen and read and been around enough paranormal stuff to guess that this wasn't some blown fuse at fault. Odds are good this weirdo might be behind it. He didn't feel like Kin, but that didn't necessarily mean anything.
"So you knew each other before you ended up here? Isn't that a little weird?"

"He's not Lurch." Richard growls, "Don't call him that. He's far more dangerous. Then that."
The words are spit out, "...STOP IT SIMON."

Simon doesn't glare, but he also doesn't shift his gaze. Unblinking, intense. The pressure doesn't subside, Simon doesn't seem particularly bothered by Richard's accusations or demands.
"You want it to stop?" It's almost sing-song. "Then stop denying what's in front of you." Acknowledging Simon as the source is one step, but if his character is going to be called into question then he's going to demand that Richard admit what he saw wasn't a goose.
no subject
"Don't mind me, boys." She leans backwards against a pillar, watching them both in fascinated amusement. "Go ahead - use your words. You clearly have some things to work out."

Anger coils in him like a snake, a curling dragon but the cameras keep staring at him and he crosses his arms over his chest to try and keep himself together.
"...He has abilities. Highly evolved ones." he does too, but he's too focused about how his head hurts.

As for the request, it continues to go ignored. You don't get something for nothing here, Strand, not after smearing Simon's character and positioning yourself as his overseer. This isn't Three Rivers, and he's done with being babysat. And Richard? Well, he isn't even a real doctor.
"The goose Doctor strand, what did you see?" He insists, an edge in his tone. Almost imperceptible but punctuated with a cold knife of pain added to the building pressure. He knows Strand knew it wasn't just some lost barnyard animal. Stop playing dumb.

It's a thousand stabbing knives and he would glare except this feels like the worst hangover ever and he's been drunk before. Amber, Coralee leaving, Charlie leaving. Everyone left because -
what did you see
"An...anomaly." that's just it,"so-called evolution. That's....it damn it let me go!"
His mind punctures the sharp pains with the words that make the aches worse.
left, left, left...
So he leaves first but he can't. His legs are lead as he tries to keep upright as a poignant fuck you.
The dragon in his mind uncoils and scratches at the offending pain.

"Being willfully blind doesn't mean what you can't see doesn't exist, Doctor. Denial won't protect your fragile reality." He chides, tone condescending.
"You should go get some rest." Again that dismissal, that warning that Simon's done playing with him. Just be glad he didn't decide to go the seizure route again.

The phrase fuck around and find out applies here. Sadly, Jack was taken offline in her home world too early to know it and cannot impart that thin slice of wisdom.
“And it sure looks like you found his right place to poke, Doc.”
Jack can’t deny that watching Strand find out isn’t a little bit hilarious. Her impression of him so far is that he’s an uptight, condescending Boomer jackass, and thus likely deserves whatever headache Simon’s mean mugging is dealing.
“Lurch isn’t wrong, though. You do look like you could use a nap.”

His eyes close, pained, before he looks at Simon and looks angry. Very angry, "This is not over Simon. We will discuss this again."

Richard's snapped comment earns an absolutely deranged laugh. "And how would you know about that, Doctor?" He sing-song asked, delighted that this pinned Richard into a corner. Did he listen to the tapes, or did he use those powers he certainly does love to deny having? Either way he was acknowledging that Simon is psychic, which is hilarious enough for him to gloat.
"Goodbye, Doctor." He's quite done with this and refuses to acknowledge if he'll tolerate playing again later or not. At this current juncture he doesn't really care to, Richard is only mildly amusing to mess with. Beyond that Simon has little use for him.
