Hello, passengers! Today begins just like normal, but it’s far from an ordinary day. On this fine point in space-time, passengers will notice a little something different when it comes to the glyphs marked on the backs of their hands.

They're glowing. The light is a deep shade of blue, and it's slowly blinking on and off. Maybe it's searching for something? It's entirely possible, because affected passengers will also feel a gentle tugging sensation that stops once they've come face to face with their partners. The glyph will switch to glowing a steady blue once partners are synced with each other, and they'll be able to communicate telepathically with each other, too.

Have fun getting to know each other a little better! Or, you know. Yelling at each other. Just try to keep the murder to a minimum, OK?

"All aboard this ship have experienced the same fate as you. No one is in charge." He repeats, slower, because clearly Mammon is hard of hearing when he doesn't like the answers he's given.

"You're in luck, we are working toward that goal presently." Sending everyone home, that is.

He doesn't care what boat everyone else is in! And he doesn't trust that this isn't orchestrated in some way. Weren't most things?

"Great, who's makin' that happen? 'cause that's who I wanna talk to, dummy!"

Of course he doesn't. Demons aren't exactly known for their strong sense of empathy. Granted, Murmur might have been inclined to agree this was orchestrated in some manner, but the only source he could think of wasn't known for answering questions.

"Ah, well, I might have told you, but now I realize I am a... dummy you said? Suppose it is time to practice my skills at being mute."

Guess it's time to be difficult to the demon. Oh how the tables turn.

The eyeroll Mammon gives him is as exasperated and annoyed as any human teenager's. "So the angel ain't gonna help. Big surprise!" He probably couldn't help, anyway. Angels didn't exactly step out of their comfort zone for demons.

"Why're you even botherin' talking to me then?!"

The good news so far has been that Mammon didn't seem to be particularly violent, a relief to be sure. Murmur didn't usually enjoy combat and he doubted he was about to start. See, he could have helped, but Mammon decided to call him names, so he's decided to be a petulant child.

Fair's fair.

As for the question he just offered Mammon a puzzled look, inclining his head in perfect display of innocent confusion. For you see, Mammon, he's been struck with a sudden bout of muteness. How unfortunate!

Fortunately, outside of extreme circumstances Mammon isn't the violent sort of demon. The annoying thieving sort who doesn't pay attention to anything not directly in front of his face, yes, but not violent. That's why when Murmur starts silently sassing him he just throws up his hands in exasperation.

"See? Useless! Thanks."

Then he storms down the hall. If Murmur's not going to help him he'll find someone who will. That threat of eating someone may pay off if there are humans around.

Annoying, thieving, and oblivious he can deal with. Certainly this one is bound to be frustrating in the future, but it's much better than dangerous. Navi and the crew didn't need a bloodthirsty agent of destruction in their midst. They might not need Mammon, either, but he seemed benign enough. Like one of those annoying cysts you don't bother removing simply because the surgery would be more trouble than the bump.

As for Mammon's exclamation Murmur offered him a pleasant smile and a deep bow, you're so very welcome! Go on, go find out for yourself the status of the current situation. Murmur will be doing that lurking around thing, just in case things get out of hand. Though for now he expects they won't be too bad.
