Video (un: gr€€d)

[There's that second of shaky-cam when Mammon starts up the video and the camera focuses. Once again it's his selection of items, or rather wares: everyday items like knitting needles and typing paper, a typewriter, nail polish, a skein of yarn, something that looked like a metal lacrosse set, a blank book and a pen. There's clothing, several sets in different styles and sizes, a set of men's boots, a large fur cloak made of a single wolf-pelt. There are a few more dangerous items too, bullets and a shotgun, various knives. The camera lingers on each item for a moment, showing it off, as Mammon speaks.]

This worked out so good last time I thought I'd try it again! I'm sellin' all this stuff to anyone who's got somethin' to buy it with. There ain't a lotta cash on board so if you got none, maybe we can trade. Or ya can owe me somethin'.

Oh -- and since space is boring and I'm such a nice guy, I'm rentin' out some of my own stuff. [He pans to another set of items, grouped together on their own: a deck of playing cards, a set of dice, and a handheld game console.] Make me an offer and I'll let you take one of 'em for... I dunno, let's say a day.

[Who said anything about trying she was outright succeeding.] I still have to pick out the clothes I want.

And I'm not. Some of us actually workout.

Nuh-uh, you observe the merchandise from a distance and I'll give it to ya! [She also has to let go of him. Once he steps through his open door into the hallway Mammon moves to drop Lady, and thanks to her hold on him absolutely nothing happens when he releases his arms.] H-hey, let go!

And that's why you're stringy!

How am I supposed to pick anything if I can't inspect it closely? [she tightens her hold on him when he tries to drop her. Pressed even tighter to him to keep from falling unceremoniously on her ass.] No.

I'm not stringy!

You can look at 'em from here! They're clothes, not diamonds!

[Way to make this not fair, Lady. Mammon tries to shake her off, getting more and more irritated that she's barnacled onto him.]

Yes you are!

Doesn't mean I want to risk that they have crappy seams by selecting them from here.

[Not fair? What about this isn't fair? She holds tight flexing her muscles to keep from losing her grip as she hands fist in his shirt. Her voice low in his ear as she responds.]

I am not.

You either pick what ya want from here or ya get nothin'!

[The unfair part is he was trying to kick her out and now she's stuck on him! So he can't go inside again either and this is... very uncomfortable and awkward.]

I bet you'd be like eatin' an old boot!

Do I get a refund if they fall apart?

[He was going to fail at kicking her out the moment she walked into his cabin. So he'll just have to deal with her being stuck to him at least for now. Eventually, she'll have to let go if she wants to keep him from getting the wrong idea.]

Not like you'd ever have the courage to find out.

No! No refunds!

[Okay, he is done with this. Lady has been pushing him ever since she first laid eyes on him and he didn't even do anything to deserve it! He'd never stolen from her or hurt her in any way and he's getting sick of this so he just. Pushes her into the wall.]

Why?! Why do ya want me to kill you so bad?!

Well, that's just not fair.

[Well not since she laid eyes on him the first time. Just since she tried to slit his throat. And the reasoning is pretty straight forward isn't it? Demons only destroy and hurt, better to stop them before they have the chance to hurt anyone else. And then he's got pressed into a wall and has to quickly silence a soft moan. Her cheeks pinking lightly as she realizes he probably heard that.]

YOU'RE not fair!

[It's a stupid comeback but that doesn't stop it being true. Lady hasn't been fair at all to him and it makes no sense. Sure, he's a terrifying demon (he thinks), but what has he actually done to anyone here? Is she just pushing him around to feel strong? Is she --]

Wh--

[Mammon leaps back and pushes her off almost simultaneously, shocked. After a beat he starts laughing.]

Haha, are ya doin' all this 'cause you think I'm handsome?

I am to fair.

[Scary...sure, like a puppy. A really yappy annoying puppy. But he is a demon and generally that means he could probably do serious damage if he chose to, so why risk it? Eliminate the threat first and she doesn't have to worry.

Or something like since his shove has her hissing as her hold is broken and she has to catch herself before she falls on her butt. Her cheeks turning red in anger (definitely not embarrassed or anything).]

In your dreams, demon. [The idea so offensive she pushes off the wall to fly at him. Whether to punch or tackle him is anyone's guess as she's flying at him head first, fists balled. So maybe it's both.]

Oh yeah, you're worried about my dreams!

[Sorry not sorry, that's just too funny! Mammon's busy snickering and doesn't see the angry human flying at him until she's already airborne.] Whoa hey!

[Too late to run, Mammon just braces for the impact and takes it. It hurts, but not as badly as Lady hopes it does, and he just rolls around on the floor, half-laughing and half-groaning.]

You liiiiike me!

[Oh yes she's so worried about his dreams. Not.

But if him laughing at whatever meaning he took from her comment means she's knocking him to the floor. Her plans to punch him waylaid by him rolling them around the hallway floor. Though she tries to get them to come to a stop so she's on top so she can shut him up by covering his mouth with her hand.]

You couldn't get me to like you if you tried.

[Ignore the giggling if you can, Lady. Mammon's too amused to really dodge, the rolling is his only evasion.]

I don't need to try!

[Unfortunately she can't ignore it as evidenced by the fact that she releases him, which has more to do with the 'ew demon cooties' on her hand than anything else as he talks. She wipes her hand on her shirt before jabbing him in the chest.]

I don't want you to try.

[At least she can only hit with human strength, which is unlikely to really damage him, leaving him unbothered enough to flash Lady a giant cheeky grin.]

No, 'cause you already liiiiike me. You think I'm handsome!

[Who said anything about her not being able to do harm? Because that is definitely her hand swinging to slap him.]

I don't like you or think you're handsome. Get it through your head.

[Unfortunately that doesn't hurt him. It has an effect, but not the one either of them were hoping for. The slap makes satisfying contact and Mammon reacts, eyes widening in shock as he involuntarily moans.

Now it's his turn to blush and be mortified. She wasn't supposed to bring that out!]

[She stares at him. He didn't. Well that was interesting, in a well at least she wasn't the only one embarrassing herself kind of way.]

Like that did you?

[It's not his fault she hit the kink button! He turns red and rubs his face frantically.]

Nuh-uh, no I didn't!

[She smirks at him. Well isn't this a familiar scene.]

How interesting, cause it sounded like you did.

[And she gives him the tiniest wiggle of her hips before standing up intent on stealing back into his cabin for the clothes she wanted.]

I DID NOT!

[He doesn't like the teasing hip-wiggle either, or being teased by a human. He doesn't like it so much that ozone seems to accumulate and there's a sudden smell of petrichor and a flash of lightning.]

HEY! DON'T TOUCH MY STUFF!

[Whatever she's not going to argue the point, she doesn't actually care. Besides she's got better things to focus on than him and the shift in the scent of the air or that there's lightning randomly flashing in a spaceship. She just wants to lay claim to the clothes she wanted. And she pauses oh so tempted by the shotgun. A single finger tracing the barrel almost lovingly.]

[This is the most furious Lady has ever seen Mammon and while he's angry, he's still not losing total control of himself. All he does is rush to his feet and zoom forward to grab her, pulling her away from the shotgun. She can keep the clothes.]

Just get out!

[She should probably feel proud for getting him that upset. Annoyed that he is once again manhandling her. And she feels those things sort of, a little bit anyway. She stumbles as he herds her toward the door, pulling out of his grip.]

I'm going. I wouldn't want to stay here any longer than necessary anyway.
