Yes but the development of world travel played a part in it too. The portals mostly only work one way. You need a very particular magic to open one that works both ways.
Which is kind of terrifying. I mean, especially considering these demons, or at the very least the people summoning them are definitely trying to break down the boundaries between worlds. I don't know if they mean multiversal or like... hell but it's still a hard thought nonetheless.
Definitely, hell where I come from. Though I'm not so sure in most cases it's about breaking down boundaries between the human world and hell so much as thinking that if they summon a demon they can control it and force it to do their bidding. It doesn't usually end well for the human that tries that though.
Success is debatable on that front. Usually, the demon eats the human or causes enough chaos that the building falls down on them literally. Just normal demon stuff.
Nope, not so far. There's like this machine thing that's supposed to remove them from people but we don't know to what end. Especially when the people doing it are so tied to the demons already.
In this case it's more like Alex keep doing what you're doing. Trusting demons is like trusting the door-to-door vacuum cleaner salesmen to actually be what he claims.

Sorry. That just sounds more than a little bit familiar.

The people doing it have been successful so far.

And no one's figured out how to kill them yet? Not even by accident?

Well, that's the first time anyone has ever said that I have a wise plan. Normally it's more of an 'Alex stop!' situation.
