you're riding with me.

WHO: OPEN to all passengers.
WHAT: General mingle log for the first part of the month, including new partner pairing stuff.
WHERE: Navi, all over.
WHEN: Now until the next event (Dec. 6-19).
WARNINGS: If things get messy and/or upsetting, please put warnings in your comment subject lines! And if you absolutely can't keep from strangling your new partner, please report it on the death page.

Hello, passengers! Today begins just like normal, but it’s far from an ordinary day. On this fine point in space-time, passengers will notice a little something different when it comes to the glyphs marked on the backs of their hands.

They're glowing. The light is a deep shade of blue, and it's slowly blinking on and off. Maybe it's searching for something? It's entirely possible, because affected passengers will also feel a gentle tugging sensation that stops once they've come face to face with their partners. The glyph will switch to glowing a steady blue once partners are synced with each other, and they'll be able to communicate telepathically with each other, too.

Have fun getting to know each other a little better! Or, you know. Yelling at each other. Just try to keep the murder to a minimum, OK?

Julia just sits back on her haunches and if it’s possible for a wolf to scowl she’s definitely scowling with every fiber of her being. While she loves to show off very dearly one thing that she doesn’t want to do is perform tricks and this definitely seems to be a trick like thing that’s for sure.

So Julia moves quickly and seamlessly to her feet with all of the wolf grace inside of her and she snaps her teeth next to Hem’s thigh. If she wants a demonstration, Julia will give her one and it won’t be on a bone that doesn’t belong to her.

The woman is welcome to snap her teeth all she likes—Azem can simply maintain her shielding. (Or, if she's particularly cheeky, shapechange her leg away.)

"For all that you've a masterful form of a wolf, you certainly are less well researched on their behaviours," she comments, barely refraining from another roll of her eyes. "Unless starving, threatened, or ill they are quite dignified, civilized creatures."

Her created bone is still held out as a silent offer, though Azem doesn't expect the woman to take it. "I had thought you would be able to manage in less, but if you don't think you can manage it you needn't be pissy with me."

Julia growls because she’s not a fucking real wolf. She’s a god damn werewolf and that’s not even really the point. The point is that she’s not going to be performing for this woman. So instead she shifts back into her normal self, albeit a self who is entirely naked and doesn’t give a fuck about that.

“I’m not trying to be a wolf, you dumb bitch. I’m a werewolf and I’m not preforming for your stupid ass.”

Aside from appearing visibly disappointed Azem is not particularly concerned by the display, though she does politely look away from the woman's nude form. It has been a difficult enough adjustment to see people roaming without their faces or forms obscured in some manner, let alone nudity, which is something she has always known to be reserved for intimacy.

"So, are 'werewolves' a more uncivilized variant of the common wolf then?"

Julia's eyes glisten when Azem looks away from her naked body, and it's almost as if someone has handed her a pretty and particular sharp knife. Well, if she can't actually hurt the woman in one way then she's definitely willing to make sure that she is uncomfortable as possible. Being an asshole comes quite easily to Julia Bellamy, and she's intent on making it as obvious as possible when she has too. Right now, feeling like she has to is definitely a huge thing. She's not going to apologize to anyone for it either.

Sometimes she really does in fact need her puppy.

"Werewolves are fucking people who end up with wolves inside of them. For better or for worse our baseline personalities are human. Sorry your stupid alien ass doesn't like us." Julia actually doesn't know what other werewolves are like because the only one that she'd ever met was the one who had passed her the wolf inside of herself and

She keeps her eyes carefully averted, feeling more out of place than she has thus far in this tiny void-faring ship. Apart from anatomy lessons, the only nude female she has ever seen has been herself. It wouldn't be inaccurate to say she's far more familiar with the opposite sex. Fortunately the majority of people seem perfectly content with wearing clothing, which is—in retrospect—a great relief.

"How does a fucking person end up with a wolf inside of them? I've never heard of such a thing." Azem repeats the woman's curse back at her, though there is no heat to it. Mostly because she hasn't any idea what it is.

"I am human. And my people would never seek out wanton violence or cruelty unless suffering from an affliction of the mind."

Like the flicking of a switch she stands up straight and proud, turning her head to meet the woman's eyes with all the radiant dignity of one who once held the seat of the sun. They are small, subtle changes in how she holds herself, and the end result is the aura of a seemingly irreverent young woman shifting into that of an ancient being chosen to help represent her people.

People who she has failed most grievously. People who are all dead, save for herself and two others.

"So, are you suffering?"

If Julia was someone else, then perhaps she would have had some sort of reverence or something for the changes that the woman is making in herself, but this is Julia Bellamy who has seen some of the worst parts of humanity, and she'd killed people who weren't quite gods, but who definitely had more power than most humans. Her hands twitch a bit, and her eyes are narrowed and more animalistic than human. With nothing but contempt in her tone, Julia takes a step closer and doesn't blink. "Humanity is suffering. Anything that you think otherwise is wrong and stupid."
