UN: Presage : Video | Is there a doctor in the house?
[Murmur doesn't often do public video, preferring the relative privacy of text or audio. But this is a different kind of request. One of particular import.
Staying relatively private had occurred to him, but this time it might not have as strong an affect when he can't intensely stare down the camera.]
Are there any on board who might qualify as something of an apothecary, or alchemist? Whatever the current terminology is, I require the assistance of one on a matter of grave import.
[That was spoken in the usual casual monotone that was typical of Murmur, then he shifted quite dramatically to almost... flippant?]
On to another matter: Some local law enforcement have taken an interest in Navi and have been asking questions. I wouldn't suggest speaking with them over much, nothing good can come of it. After all, we don't have much time left here...
[His voice lowers, an icy edge creeping in. Where he had been looking off into the distance as he spoke his focus now honed in on the camera and it might almost feel as if he's looking right. At. You.]
With the next leg of our journey nigh upon us it would be a shame [Almost hissed.] for our tenuous peace to be disrupted.
[Did he just maybe imply threatening the whole crew?]

What is ACAB and why did you put a pound sign before it?

ACAB stands for All Cops Are Bastards. A lot of people, such as anarchists like myself, use it to announce their beliefs that - well, it's what it says on the tin. And that's a hashtag. You use hashtags with keywords on web sites like Twitter, and it links everything with the same tag together, so you can click on the tag and search for other people talking about whatever the tag is. We can't do that on this network, obviously - it's just an old habit.

Hashtag. Should I start using hashtags? I wonder if they could be made to work on this network. You realize of course I do not know what a Twitter is, but I believe I understand the gist.

[shh, being friends with an angel is delightful.]
There you go! You’re already picking it up. Next step: memes.
[she’s proud of you, mur. c:]

[They can be very strange creatures at times.]
You know what my next question will be.
[Tell him about the memes.]

[oh yes, she knows. luckily, memes are an explanation she has given before!]
Memes are usually pictures or videos that people find funny, and they get passed around so much they become part of the cultural lexicon of the internet. But it’s not EVERY funny picture or video you find online - there's usually a specific format. Like pictures will often have silly words pasted over them that go with the picture. It's sorta hard to describe without a visual example, but I have a few saved on my old phone that I can show you.

[Good because this angel is a little behind the times on humans. He's not completely niave like some of his brethren would likely be, but still very behind.]
Human ingenuity with regards to language and methods of communication never ceases to impress. Should you have the opportunity I would enjoy seeing some of these memes.

[like he doesn't also basically live there.]

I may have to revisit this upon the next world we visit.
[He basically lives there.]

Even if he is being threatened, it just makes him feel at home.Still, the existence of a threat is enough to pique his interest that something is happening, and his curious disposition naturally leads to him wanting to know more.He does not qualify as an apothecary or an alchemist or anything of the sort, but there's a slim chance he knows some odd trivia that might come in handy. There's an even slimmer chance that if he does, he'll willingly make himself useful, but hey.]
What do you need help with? And should we be concerned about our peaceful voyage being disrupted?
[If only text could convey subtle sarcasm as well as his tongue does. Peaceful voyage indeed.]

That said, I require an apothecary. Do you know one?
[He's not just going to volunteer why, Kaz, try harder.]

Seems like a fair assumption no matter where you are. I'd hardly describe anything so far as convenient, but I suppose that's a matter of taste.
I know quite a few, though arranging an appointment might be complicated and I'd hate to see their rates.
[Is he talking about people at home? ... Yes.]

It could always be worse.
Yes, I am afraid the assistance I require cannot wait on inter-universal travel. We will call that the last resort.
