Hello, passengers! Hope you're all ready for an announcement, 'cause Navi's voice is getting beamed into your head right about ... now:

Attention, passengers.
We'll be docking soon at the city of New Ecrillion, on the planet Zegnolia, where we will remain for approximately three weeks, local time.
Please stand by.

From the announcement until landing, to help everyone adjust to the new environment, Navi will gift all passengers with a a faint hummed melody.

Upon docking and disembarking, passengers will find a bank counter just past the terminal, where your new windfall of Navigems can be exchanged for credits (the universal currency). Try not to spend it all in one place!

Now, go get your groove on! Just remember to take breaks to hydrate.

Squall looks like he's about to say something but Lucifer's easy charm has him take half a step back to watch instead. He's distrustful still as he grudgingly accepts his weapon, pressing his lips together to keep from having An Emotion that he has the gunblade back.

"Thanks," he says, grudgingly also.

"I'm not about to act like an idiot to take back something that's mine." He doesn't sing and he's not about to do it in front of strangers.

“‘Idiotic’ is relative,” Lucifer says matter-of-factly. “Would you look like an idiot if law enforcement arrived and dragged you off and you wound up not getting your property back at all?”

Because that’s pretty idiotic, too.

“The point is, there’s a time and a place for everything. Learn to read the room.”

[silentnarration]

Squall grits his teeth briefly. Lucifer's right, but Squall is sick and tired of being subjected to other people's whims. The request may be a simple one but it asks a lot of the not-very-sociable young man.

He sighs and looks away frustrated.

"Being stuck in a jail cell or a supposedly sentient spaceship isn't much of a choice. I'm sick and tired of getting kidnapped by beings who think they can make me do whatever they want."

[dealwiththe]

"Oh, trust me, I know all too well the frustration of feeling manipulated," Lucifer says darkly. "But the shopkeeper is an innocent. Best save your wrath for someone who deserves it. I'm sure someone will come along soon enough."

[silentnarration]

Squall releases an annoyed breath. Well, that he can't argue with he supposes.

"They always do," he agrees darkly. "How long have you been on this ship? Have you heard anything about a place called Dualis or an AI called The Head?"

“Not long at all and never before in my extremely long life,” Lucifer says conversationally in answer to the boy’s questions. “This is my first jaunt around the multiverse, until I showed up on Navi I would’ve said the Devil is a bit too intimidating for an interdimensional kidnapping.”

[silentnarration]

The Devil? Squall is giving Lucifer a more direct once over now. Looks human but he's aware looks can be deceiving at this point.

He sighs and says drily, "and let me guess, you don't have rift opening powers."

Because that would be too convenient.
