Attention, passengers.
We'll be docking soon at the city of New Ecrillion, on the planet Zegnolia, where we will remain for approximately three weeks, local time.
Please stand by.

From the announcement until landing, to help everyone adjust to the new environment, Navi will gift all passengers with a a faint hummed melody.

Upon docking and disembarking, passengers will find a bank counter just past the terminal, where your new windfall of Navigems can be exchanged for credits (the universal currency). Try not to spend it all in one place!

The credits that's just short of enough in Squall's case. He still doesn't think it right she pay for his own item but he doesn't have a leg to stand on for arguing that point right now. Besides, he'll be seeing her around for a while yet. Probably.

He nods to accept the explanation and shuffles his feet a little, trying to come down from the anger and distrust that hasn't really gone away since he woke up on Navi. The mention of food does prompt him to look at her again. Ah, right. That's a thing.

"...Yeah, sure," he shoots the shopkeeper another look before following her out the store. He clutches the gunblade close and tightly. He's not losing this again now that he has it. "I'm Squall." A pause. Then, "Sorry for yelling at you."

Alex isn't bothered by the way he keeps the gunblade close--when she'd found the recording of the show, Alex had tucked it into her bra and wrapped her hand around it the entire way back to the ship so no judgment found here. It's important even if Alex doesn't quite get the importance of it it, but that's neither here nor there. If it's important to Squall, then it's important to Alex. Easy enough.

She moves into the pizza place, and asks to be shown to a quieter part of the restaurant away from where people were singing. Alex herself doesn't sing--she sounds like a dead cat honestly--but she's got enough stored up credits that anything that either of them want shouldn't be a problem. Besides, if it's not Alex is quite certain that she can prevail on any number of singers to help. Strand absolutely has a good voice and she knows it, so at least there's that.

Settling into the chair and looking at the menu, Alex just settles her gaze onto the man in front of her (who makes her feel quite old actually) and asks softly: "have you had pizza before and do you have a preference on what kind?"

He's a teenager. Of course he knows pizza... The few times he manages to get some from the cafeteria before every other student swipes it anyway.

"Anything with chicken's fine." He's not picky, though Seifer's spoiled him a bit cooking for him in Dualis. He shakes his head, setting the gunblade against the chair between him and the wall. He appreciates her discretion really. It's helping ease him up more. "No pineapple."

He looks over to where the louder customers are singing and having oddly loud conversation. It's annoying but in a way that also makes him nostalgic. His friends are loud. He misses his friends... But he can't forgive himself for failing Rinoa and he doesn't know if he'll be able to face them with that failure hanging over him.

His expression has darkened from that thought. Hopefully Alex was busy getting them food. He sighs. He looks young but the way he frowns and that haunted look in his eyes make him look far older than he should be.

"... How long have you been on board the ship?" he asks, carefully.

Alex comes over balancing a pie that has chicken on it. One quarter is simply just chicken and cheese, the next is chicken and pesto with tomato, the third quarter is chicken and bacon and ranch and the third is chicken and barbeque sauce and onions. When she settles them down, Alex just explains them, and then she herself takes a piece of the one with bacon and ranch. There had been no singing for their supper from her because Alex's singing voice is something like a dying cat and she didn't want to end up with the whole thing being garbage.

She's also got two what she thinks are cokes, but that Alex had made sure weren't like alcoholic at least. Starting their partnership with having a drink just doesn't feel right when he's a teenager. Alex isn't an idiot of course, she knows teenagers are gonna teenage but that doesn't mean that she has to start him down the path here with their partnership.

"It's been a while. Almost a year, I think. I mean, I was off on a planet living my life for a month with no remembrance of the ship, but I would still count it as time I was on here, you know?" And no, she's not going to bring up that she'd died then. That isn't helpful to anyone.
