With Mello telling him to leave, Matt made the decision to disregard it. He knew mad and if Mello wanted him gone he would have had glass thrown at him, not words. The sound of his voice belied that he was more frustrated than he was anything else.

Alright so if Matt removed himself from the situation and thought about it a little more, maybe he could understand instead of being angry. You know, except when Mello told him he had no clue. He bit his inner lip and took a deep breath in, letting it out slowly. Matt was trying hard to keep his eyes on Mello's face, but the more he talked the more he just got upset.
