WHO: Open to all passengers!
WHAT: A visit to Hama Vorcia, and your 15 minutes of fame.
WHERE: Anywhere on the megastation Hama Vorcia, or Navi.
WHEN: April 11 through May 2
WARNINGS: Add these to your comment subject lines as needed! And if you end up going too hard on one of those extreme challenge shows, please record deaths on the death page.
Hello, passengers! Hope you're all ready for an announcement, 'cause Navi's voice is getting beamed into your head right about ... now:
Attention, passengers.
We'll be docking soon at the megastation Hama Vorcia, where we will remain for approximately three weeks, local time.
Please stand by.
The notable lack of turbulence this time is probably a refreshing change, eh?
Upon docking and disembarking, passengers will find a bank counter just past the terminal, where your new windfall of Navigems can be exchanged for credits (the universal currency). Try not to spend it all in one place!
After that … the megastation’s ceiling is the limit. Have as much fun as you can cram into the next few weeks! Just make sure to pace yourselves - you wouldn’t want to get sidelined by muscle cramps, right?

Richard shifts his bags. He has a headache, a pounding headache that runs from his forehead down to the nape of his neck being around all these people. An eyebrow is raised, "Did I startle you? I was thinking. It's something people do upon occasion. Walk and think."
That said the young man does look knocked over, "...I didn't mean to knock you over. I apologize."
no subject
He really shouldn't look that close the man was giving him a headache just looking at him.
"You ran into me," He pointed out. Startle wasn't exactly the reaction there. And yes, he is still absolutely wearing one of Alex's shirts. It doesn't quite fit right but it's getting the job done. As for the apology he studies Richard for a few moments, not saying anything, before nodding to himself and turning as if he's just going to leave. It's not a refuse apology, necessarily, Simon just doesn't think they're on especially friendly terms.
no subject
"...How are you feeling after that attack?"
Is he going to just walk with him? Yes. Like he belongs? Yes. Because he does belong. they're from the same world and he has to stick with them so he can save them if needed. And it is needed.
no subject
Right now the more pressing matter was Richard following him like they're friends. Simon just cast him a wary look. What was he up to now?
"How do you think?" He countered, after Strand demonstrated his poor self control Simon wasn't quick to trust. Alex was the one he protected, he'd protect her from Richard just as quick as anyone else.
"How long have you been on this voyage, Dr. Strand?"
no subject
There's no pause, "I...apologize for my haste in applying the medical supplies. I was unsure and I did not want you to be hurt."
Until later. He shakes his head and focuses on him, "Are you enjoying shopping?"
no subject
Simon just leveled another look at him. "That's not the part you should be apologizing for." The fact Richard burned him with intent was the slight, not his panic. Still... Richard did save his life, so he'll play slightly nicer.
Simon turned to regard a camera, frowning. "Not really. But I need clothes." So he'll just suck it up.
no subject
That he can see. That he can see very very well. Shouldering his own bag, "Are you looking for something more professional or comfortable? I won't guess. There are a number of places you might look here I can point you at them."
no subject
"Comfortable, I don't wear suits." Could he? Maybe, probably, who knew? Growing up in a mental hospital didn't give him a lot of room for self expression or finding out. Although he did have to admit that was actually... helpful. Who are you and what have you done with Richard Strand?
no subject
All of this bothers him but he is practicing yes, practicing, so he gestures, "Let me show you a few places. That way you can return Alex's property to her. And you won't be forced to ask her for such a generous favor again."
no subject
"I didn't ask. She offered." He quipped, lightly, knowing full well that'd annoy Richard even more than him asking for a favor. Annoyed or no, he will let Richard show him a place or two. Once he knew roughly where to go finding what he was looking for at a reasonable price shouldn't be too difficult.
no subject
He bristles a bit but lets it slide, "She is kind. Here." He glares down a camera focused on him, "These CCTV things are a bit much aren't they."
They make him uneasy and he broadcasts that, "You'd think I'd be used to it by now."
no subject
Simon's eyes trail to one of the cameras, still eating the last of his nutrient bar thoughtfully. Then, with a bit of static and flickering one of the feeds focused on them goes out. Of course another camera whips around to make up for it, but he does smirk to himself all the same... As that one goes dead as well.
"Too much," Simon agrees. He really doesn't like all these cameras, it's exhausting trying to keep them all suppressed, so he hasn't been. Just a little here and there as something of a flex. He'd much rather if he could just slink through them and never be seen at all. "You've been the center of controversy and attention long before the show." Simon mused aloud, allowing his attention to shift back to Richard.
no subject
"I don't know what you're talking about." His teeth grit, "If you're referring to my issues with the Catholic church I'm in the right and the archbishop of canterbury needs to be aware of that."
He grimaces, "And if you're referring to Lorraine Warren, I wish her well and I don't understand why she's so upset with me."
She's upset with him because she knows exactly what he is (psychics will do that). It's not about the church.
There's what amounts to a general retail store ahead, "...This seems about your speed if you don't mind me saying so."
But does he look uncomfortable, "Alex told you this?"
no subject
"You know that's not true. Neither of those things are true." Unlike some Simon didn't hide his prying. He didn't play nice, or polite. Psychics will do that, and by now Richard should know better.
Simon gave him the opportunity to find out about him, Strand refused, so now he maintains the upper hand.
Simon simply smirks over at him. "Alex is a professional, she didn't tell me anything." And unless Richard insists on stalking him more, Simon will just leave him with that.
no subject
"You give me a headache." the words are spit out before they enter a bright white store - occasional splashes of red and cameras, all those cameras like eyes and people being watched...
He gestures, "After you."
no subject
Simon just looks amused, brushing right on past Strand as he heads in to go do some shopping. It's about time someone did, being as Richard gives everyone else headaches. Simon does understand, he has them all the time when he's around noisy people. He's still not inclined to be particularly empathetic toward Strand. Richard does hurt Alex far too much for that.
"Do you believe everything you say, Doctor Strand?"
no subject
So when Jack happens upon the two of them out shopping, she follows them, listening intently to their conversation to try to glean information about Simon especially. The way they’ve been talking about Alex doesn’t sit quite right with her, though, and it’s what finally drives her to reveal herself after she follows them into the store.
“So, boys - does Alex know you two talk about her like this when she’s not around?” is the question that comes from behind them.
no subject
"I'm sorry but who are you and why do you care?"
The words are snapped, growled even. He shouldn't have to be thinking about her like this he barely knew her...
Yet he knew everything about her. Or at least she knew about him. It's hard not to feel vulnerable with that. Especially now.
no subject
Annoying Strand earns something of an amused look from him.
"You know Alex?" She's won some points coming to her defense, though Simon can't think that anything they've said has been wrong. She is a professional, and she is generous, these things are true.
His attention turns back to Strand's snarling. "Careful, Doctor, the eyes are everywhere. You can't hide from their sight." Implying that he can, of course.
no subject
"You know, you might want to look into seeing a doctor while we're here. Memory loss is one of the early signs of dementia."
Jack nods to answer Simon's question. "Of course I know Alex. She's ... " A friend? Not quite, Jack doesn't know her that well. Friend-adjacent, maybe? " ... very interesting. We've had some good talks about monsters. I guess you could say we bonded a little? So you can't really blame a girl for looking out for another girl."
no subject
"You can't blame me for being thrown off by trying to deal with someone from my world fond of hunting geese." But she's a friend of Alex so he relaxes, "This place is unnerving. I was following him to make sure he is...accompanied."
no subject
It's going to be like that, is it?
"It wasn't a goose." He states matter-of-factly. And the reprisal for this false and defamatory statement? The pressure that had been a mild product of Simon's presence suddenly increased. Tenfold. Right about now is when he decided he had had quite enough of Doctor Richard Strand.
He does hope the man enjoys never sleeping again. "You do have a history of shifting responsibility, don't you, Doctor Strand?" It was almost a warning, a hint of a threat in his tone as that pressure increased ever further. Whatever monitors might have been focused on them went off in the distance, whatever surveillance moved to compensate likewise found their feed nothing but static and darkness.
no subject
She shrugs, but that business with the nearby equipment shorting out sure is curious. Jack's seen and read and been around enough paranormal stuff to guess that this wasn't some blown fuse at fault. Odds are good this weirdo might be behind it. He didn't feel like Kin, but that didn't necessarily mean anything.
"So you knew each other before you ended up here? Isn't that a little weird?"
no subject
"He's not Lurch." Richard growls, "Don't call him that. He's far more dangerous. Then that."
The words are spit out, "...STOP IT SIMON."
no subject
Simon doesn't glare, but he also doesn't shift his gaze. Unblinking, intense. The pressure doesn't subside, Simon doesn't seem particularly bothered by Richard's accusations or demands.
"You want it to stop?" It's almost sing-song. "Then stop denying what's in front of you." Acknowledging Simon as the source is one step, but if his character is going to be called into question then he's going to demand that Richard admit what he saw wasn't a goose.
